ACCOUNTANCY FIRM ANNOUNCES EAST YORKSHIRE EXPANSION
Chartered accountancy practice Forrester Boyd has further strengthened its position in East Yorkshire with the merger of another well-known accountancy firm, Robsons.
The move brings Forrester Boyd’s branch network to five covering an area from Skegness in the south to the new base close to Beverley.
Forrester Boyd’s East Yorkshire Partner Mike Beckett described the merger as “another significant step forward in the on-going expansion of the practice”. He added: “Since we gained a foothold in the Hull and East Yorkshire region by opening an office at Hessle 18 months ago, we have quickly gained a reputation for thoughtful, effective support to businesses and individuals, resulting in a string of major client gains, including a number of the school Academies.
“We saw an opportunity to push our boundaries even further through the merger of our existing East Yorkshire office with the Robsons business and this gives us an opportunity to embark on a serious new business push over the coming years.
“Quite simply, this was an opportunity we could not turn down – joining forces with such a solid, well known organisation in an area with such potential for growth. It fits so well with Forrester Boyd’s long-term ambitions”.
The combined East Yorkshire businesses of Forrester Boyd and Robsons will trade as Forrester Boyd Robson Limited and will be based at the existing Robsons premises at Plaxton Bridge Road, Woodmansey, Beverley. The new firm will be led by a three-man senior management team of Mike Beckett and two Robsons executives, Ian Robson and Roger Worthington.
Robsons was established in the early 1980s, joining forces with another local firm in 1995. The practice is well known through the East Yorkshire region and has a client base of around 700.
Roger Worthington said: “This is an excellent move for everyone involved with Robsons, not least our many clients who can look forward to having access to an even greater range of financial, accounting and taxation services.
“We carried out due diligence into Forrester Boyd and we were very impressed by their reputation, their capabilities and the relationship they have with their clients”.
Forrester Boyd has 14 partners supported by more than 180 staff at offices at Skegness, Scunthorpe, Louth, its Grimsby headquarters and now Beverley.www.forrester-boyd.co.uk
